Big tesa Story telling, Inventors, and Creation contest 2005: tesalino and tesalina meet the robots
To turn as many children as possible into enthusiastic readers and to promote creativity – this is the target of the big story telling, inventors, and creation contest for elementary schools, that tesa has started now for the sixth time already, jointly with “Stiftung Lesen” (Reading Foundation). This year the classes write, play, paint and create using the beginning of a story from the pen of children’s book author Andreas Schlüter.
The major players of the story are once again tesalino and tesalina, the two funny gluing friends. This time they are experiencing exciting adventures in the world of robots. They are meeting with characters coming directly from a new children’s and family movie titled “Robots” that will be released to the movie screens in March.
There will be a reunion with the funny robots from July to September – on the tesa Glue Sticks. In line with the tesa Back to School Promotion 2005 tesa will offer sales support to the stationery and food trade in form of a colourful “Robots” promotion pack. It will contain 3 tesa Glue Sticks in cheerfully coloured design, one of which is free.
Since five years already the tesa story telling, inventors and creation contest is a real attraction for elementary school children and their teachers. Roughly 22% of all German elementary schools participated with one or more classes last year.
All in all 52,500 children participated in 2004 in the story telling, inventors and creation contest, 40% more than last year. No wonder: apart from a lot of fun as well as many chances for creative and educationally valuable learning there are attractive prizes to win. The winners will undertake a two day class trip visiting a suitable theme park with additional educational activities. Second and third prizes will be a class library and an afternoon with the children’s book author Andreas Schlüter reading to the students. Additionally, many parcels of books can be won.
All elementary schools in Germany were invited to participate before the beginning of the year already. The participating classes are receiving the documentation and will work on their projects until May.
A jury of experienced educators elects the year’s winner on the basis of the works submitted, like drawings, handicrafts, pictures and stories as well as of the documentation of the projects.
Media partners of the contest are the publishing house Family Media with its family magazine “Family & Co.” as well as the children’s magazine “mach mit” (take part) who are accompanying the project in their January editions.
